The differences between the two are listed below:
Plate Loose Flange,Consists of two components: flange plate and loose ring. Applicable standards include EN1092-1 Type02/04, DIN2642, etc. The flange plate resembles a plate flat welding flange. Instead of welding the flange to the pipe, the loose ring is welded to the pipe. The flange plate can slide freely along the pipe and does not come into contact with the medium inside the pipe.
Lap Joint Flange,Composed of a flange plate and a stub end. The flange plate features a short hub,. Its application method is similar to that of the plate loose flange, yet it delivers superior sealing performance.
