Q: Why are most Y‑type lateral tees non‑standard? What are their advantages?
A: General standards including ASME B16.9 only cover tees with 90° perpendicular branches. Y‑type and 45° lateral tees are not covered by standard specifications, so they fall into the non‑standard category.
