In fact, the quality of plate welded flanges and forged welded flanges is the same. However, the biggest drawback of plate welded flanges is their material composition. While the density of plate welded flanges is generally acceptable during production, the raw blanks are rarely inspected. Therefore, the material quality of untested plate welded flanges produced cannot be guaranteed.
